If you’re anything like me then you’re always good for a bowl of cereal. No matter what time of day (or night for that matter), the deliciousness of milk and cereal combined is always a welcome treat. In London, the “Cereal Killer Cafe” is the first cafe of its kind and it has heaps of cereal lovers lining up to get their share of breakfast bliss. You should too, and here’s why.

Cereal Killer Cafes Thing

In 2014, two identical twins, Alan and Gary Keery, put up their first cereal cafe in London. The idea to create such a unique establishment came after a hangover that demanded a “sugary cereal fix”. They conducted their own consumer research, and despite failing to come up with the funds that they needed to make the project work, they eventually nailed it. An old video store would become London’s first ever cereal cafe.

Variety Is The Spice Of Life

We’ve all been accustomed to some twenty or thirty different cereals in our lives, but do you know how many others there are out there? Cereal Killer Cafe has imported more than 150 different cereals to their two cafes in London and two in the Arab Peninsula. Some of the incredible cereals that they import are: “Strawberry Pops” from South Africa, “Kariot” from Israel, and even South Korea’s unique version of “Kellogg’s Special K” made from sweet potatoes. It probably goes without saying that they also have virtually all cereal from the United States. A customer gets to choose between more than 150 cereals, 13 different kinds of milks and 20 different toppings. Cereal Killer Cafe boasts getting their hands on limited edition cereals like “Count Chocula” which only appears in the U.S. during Halloween every year.

More Than Just Cereal

If someone is overwhelmed (I would be) with all the choices in front of them, there are “cereal sommeliers” who step in to assist. Now if you’re thinking about getting a traditional bowl of cereal, that’s fine. However you should know that Cereal Killer Cafe has a collection of cereal cocktails. These cocktails are a mix of different cereals, different milks and a variety of toppings. One example could be the Kellogg’s Froot Loops, Post’s Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms and strawberry milk cocktail.

Throwbacks And Flashbacks

Cereal Killer Cafe has made it their mission to take customer’s on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The founders have proudly collected a “bleep-load” of cereal memorabilia from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s and it decorates the walls and tables. The cafe doesn’t have the traditional matching tables and chairs layout, oh no. Beds with cartoon sheets serve as the seating options in addition to different colored chairs and tables spread around the cafe.

Cereal-sly Good

Is this cafe just a couple of guys pouring milk into bowls of cereal for customers? The founders see much more than that: “We wanted to recreate the excitement you get when you were a kid in the supermarket and you were staring at that big wall of cereal and your mum told you you were allowed to pick just one. It was a big decision for an eight-year-old, and so exciting.” So, if you’re looking for a cereal childho… sorry, surreal childhood throwback then you should really pop into Cereal Killer Cafe in London.
