After Dolly graduated from high school, she moved to Nashville and found success as a songwriter. Then in 1967, she scored a big break when musician and country music entertainer Porter Wagoner invited her on his show The Porter Wagoner Show. Initially fans were outraged at Dolly’s presence on the show, as she replaced Norma Jean, however in time, with Wagoner’s assistance and her killer vocals, fans adored Dolly. With the show, Parton’s success grew exponentially and as a farewell to Wagoner, our girl wrote a special song.
