Wynwood is one of the most exciting neighborhoods you can explore while you’re visiting Miami. While the area used to be quite rough, now the neighborhood is the center of culture, art, and of course, food. You can walk around and take in the stunning street art, explore the boutique shops, and take in the amazing art at the Wynwood Walls. When you’ve worked up an appetite, there are plenty of awesome places to try out that will tantalize your taste buds. Here are some eateries to check out while you’re there.
Zak the Baker
Zak the Baker is a fantastic bakery and cafe that offers up fantastic bread, delicious buttery pastries, and plenty of savory dishes that will have you coming back for more any time you’re in the area. You should absolutely try their cranberry walnut sourdough bread, and perhaps even take a loaf home with you while you’re at it.
Kyu
There’s a reason why it’s so tough to get a table at Kyu, it’s so so good. Nearly ever dish you can order is a crowd pleaser, whether its the Thai fried rice stone pot, soft-shell crab bao buns, roasted cauliflower, or the succulent fried chicken. Our recommendation is to order some of everything and share, that way you can experience the most in one go. Just remember that this place gets packed really fast, so make a reservation.
Doya
Doya is great Mediterranean eatery that focuses on Aegean food with lovely outdoor eating spaces, a large and inviting indoor dining room, and delicious food. There are plenty of meze little dishes that you can order for the whole table. You should also try the octopus salad, lamb kebabs, and the mussels that come in a wine and garlic sauce that will have you licking your fingers.
The Salty Donut
Although the indoor space is very small at the Salty Donut, this place is absolutely worth the waiting in line. The donuts here are hands down the best in the area. Their soft and delicious brioche donuts come in a variety of exciting flavors like guava and cheese, brown butter and salt, and white chocolate tres leches. Their iced coffee is also great, and is a perfect complement to a donut or two…or five.
Coyo
Coyo serves up some of the most delicious tacos in Miami. That explains why there’s a line out the door, but we promise it’s so worth it. Try the crispy duck (carnitas de pato) with the chipotle aioli, you won’t be sorry. At night, you’ll notice that this place is extra packed with people, but that’s because there’s a small nightclub in the back.
