While Candice Bergen was a student at the University of Pennsylvania, she was Homecoming Queen and also was crowned Miss University. She never ended up graduating, but she did pursue a modeling career that eventually led her to acting.

Bergen went on to have a very successful acting career, appearing in Murphy Brown as the title character from 1988 until 1998 and reprised the role in 2018 until 2019. She later starred as Shirley Schmidt in Boston Legal from 2005 until 2008 and many films as well.
